Our signature medium roast blend, Island Reserve features coffee from Nicaragua, Peru, and Tanzania, which when combined present a balanced cup, full of nuanced characteristics. The Nicaragua provides the strong base, with a touch of sweetness. The Peru provides the low-note, heaviness and body. And the Tanzania from the Ngoro Ngoro gorge is added for its delicate sweet, fruit-flavours. Roasted to a medium colour, but done right, the blend maintains the individual characteristics of its components, but still becomes greater than the sum of its parts the sign of a truly balanced, special blend.
Recently, we were able to source the coffees that create Island Reserve from farms that create a higher quality of life for their workers, and the resulting coffee, through Rainforest Alliance certification. The Rainforest Alliances stringent standards for environmental, social, and economic sustainability, help us ensure that we will have long-lasting sources of these amazing coffees.
